LOFT for women
With LOFT for women you choose a refined form of hair restoration aimed at subtly improving density, the hairline or the eyebrows, with a natural and feminine result. This approach is especially relevant for thinning hair (diffuse hair loss), a rising hairline or eyebrows that gradually become less full. Its strength lies in customisation: the right indication, a careful treatment plan and an approach that takes female hair growth, styling and aesthetics into account.

What does LOFT mean in hair restoration for women?
In practice, LOFT is often used as an umbrella term for a gentle, aesthetically driven approach to hair transplantation and hair restoration, in which the end result does not look "transplanted". For women it is usually less about restoring a pronounced hairline and more about restoring a natural transition, with fine frontal hairs, a gradual build-up in density and a hairline that suits the face shape and age. Restoring eyebrows can also fall under LOFT, for example after overplucking, scarring or naturally thinner growth. It is not about a single trick, but about a combination of planning, graft selection, the right angle and direction of placement and good aftercare.
Who is LOFT suitable for with thinning hair or a receding hairline?
This approach can be a good fit for women with a widening parting, decreasing density on the crown, a receding hairline at the temples or a hairline that has become thinner due to styling, traction alopecia or hormonal factors. An important step is distinguishing between temporary shedding and structural miniaturisation, as in female pattern hair loss. With diffuse hair loss, not everyone is automatically a suitable candidate for a transplant; the quality of the donor area and the stability of the hair loss determine what is feasible. In addition, factors such as medication, iron status, the thyroid, postpartum hair loss and stress can play a role, which is why they belong in the analysis.
How a LOFT treatment works: from analysis to design
A LOFT journey starts with an extensive intake, in which the pattern, the pace and the possible cause of the hair loss are assessed. Magnification is often used to examine hair thickness, the degree of miniaturisation and the balance between the recipient area and the donor area. The design follows, in which the hairline is not set too low and soft, irregular micro-variations are deliberately used, so the result looks feminine and natural. With eyebrows, the emphasis is even more on the direction and angle of the hairs; that is exactly where the difference lies between "filled in" and real. Finally, the treatment plan is tailored to your styling, the way you wear your hair (such as a parting or fringe) and a realistic density within safe limits.
Techniques and alternatives: transplantation, eyebrow restoration and non-surgical options
Depending on the indication, LOFT can consist of a hair transplant, for example with an FUE approach, an eyebrow transplant or a combination with supporting therapies. Non-surgical options can be particularly worthwhile when the hair loss is still active or when thickening existing hairs is still achievable. This includes, for example, treatments that improve the condition of the scalp, support the hair cycle or reduce the need for camouflage. In many cases a phased approach works best: first stabilise and optimise, and only then densify specifically in the places where it has the most aesthetic effect.

Results, recovery time and realistic expectations for women
With LOFT, "natural" matters more than "maximum". Immediately after the procedure, redness or slight swelling can occur. Scabs usually disappear within a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on the treated area and skin type. Transplanted hairs often fall out first; this is shock loss of the hairs, not of the root. New growth then usually gets going in the months that follow. The final result develops gradually and is usually only properly assessed after 9 to 12 months. With diffuse hair loss, the quality of the existing hair remains a decisive factor, which is why maintenance and follow-up are important to keep the result looking good in the long term.
